It's not actually a 10GB RAM laptop. More than likely, it has either 12GB or 16GB, and the rest of the RAM is assigned to the GPU.

 

My guess is 12GB: 1x 8GB stick, 1x 4GB stick. That leaves 2GB assigned to the GPU. I would doubt 16GB, simply because 6GB assigned to the GPU? Waste of RAM in that config...

@Lolucoca but if it is indeed 16GB, then definitely go into the BIOS and reassign some of that RAM back to system memory!

 

BTW, why did you pay "$5 Euro" for it, when you got it out of a dumpster? Generally speaking, things coming out of the Dumpster are free

Is it still in good condition? Would be weird if it was. If it is, probably someone with too much money though it was time for an upgrade.

Please elaborate or post pictures. SODIMM memory modules don't come in 10GB sizes.

 

The only way I can think of to get to 10GB is:

1x4GB

3x2GB

 

But that would require 4x SODIMM slots, and only very VERY FEW high end workstation or gaming laptops ever had 4x SODIMM slots.

But hey! Whatever works. If I were you, and the laptop was in perfect working order, I'd pick up another 8GB module and stow the 2GB one.
