1070 Overpricing

So I've been thinking of picking up a 1070 to upgrade my system, but now, taking an in depth look at the prices, I'm very confused...

 

I can barely find a single 1070 below around $430, which is absurd, with the founder's edition also sitting at a straight $500. I thought it was said that the base price of the card would be around $400, but I can barely find any going that low.

 

It's been two months since the release, so it can't be the price inflating bc the card is new, right?

 

What's the deal here? And is it even worth it to spend the extra $ for founder's edition anyways??

It's an unchallenged card. As long as it sells as fast as it's made the prices won't come down.

I think you missed the "unchallenged" part. Nothing matches a 1070 other than a 1080 which is even more expensive. 

 

The EVGA SC is a good card, so is the MSI Gaming. Both can be had in the low 400s

If you buy from Jet using a promo code, you can get one for <$400. I just bought an Asus Strix 1070 for $390 off of Jet today.

no the founders addition is strictly worse than most of the custom 1070 dont waste your money to get the founders addition

I just picked up EVGA GTX 1070 from Amazon for $420 on Wednesday. Today it's $500 due to third party sellers and Amazon being out of stock. You just need to check daily to get the best price.
