windows is reserving a whole memory chip.

Go to solution Solved by marshmallowbam95,

i apologize for the very late response. I did solve the issue, my ram is dying slowly so i temporarily got to work by switching the configuration around for my sticks. I was not able to reply due to my computer not being able to post.i found a configuration that works but im not sure for how long, so thanks to all the people who were trying to help me out its greatly appreciated.

I am having an issue with the ASUS crosshair v formula z where not matter of configuration it reserves half of my memory as hardware reserved. it does not matter if i use 2x4+ 2x2 or 2x2 or 4x2 or 2x4. No methods of configuration are working as it always just reserves half of my memory for hardware reserved. I have tried flashing my bios, along with hitting the memok button. It registers the full amount of ram i insert but it just cuts it in half. please help.
