Bios update

I will be buying a new mainboard ( MSI Z170M Mortar ) do I have to update the BIOS ? And if so how do I do that ? Btw I'm I sing win10 and I heard that Windows does a lot itself , will it update my bios automatically ?

Unless something is not working properly, like your CPU not being detected, there is no reason why you should update BIOS.

New BIOS will bring different things, some are important depending on usage... some are CPU compatability updates which are useful to some people, some are bug releases that might affect more people and are therefore more important. But as above said to soem degree, if your system is running fine, then most likely not needed... but just bear it in mind if you run into problems later. Anyway BIOS updates are no big deal really, some boards you can update from in the BIOS/UEFI itself via the internet, most you can upgrade via USB from within the BIOS/UEFI and I believe maybe a lot of them you can update from within windows... I do this myself most times as I don't have a fancy in bios update from internet capability,lol. Seriously, I wouldn't worry about it at all, just use the (insert manufacturers name here) LIVE! update type thing from within windows, it'll check for new BIOS version, chipset drivers etc.
