Raid controller

Hello,

I don't know much about this raid controller. A friend gave it me I am just wondering how old it is and how much is it worth as I only want a smaller one to this one.

It's not worth much...DDR and PCI-X is kind of long dead by today's standards...

It's not worth much...DDR and PCI-X is kind of long dead by today's standards...

Indeed, this card is actually literally worthless for most PC's, since the PCI-X interface is pretty damn old, and was Server/Workstation only.

 

A consumer class motherboard would never have PCI-X ports to begin with, and a Server class motherboard would need to be Pre-Core2 era (Basically, Netburst era) to even have PCI-X slots.

Any hardware that old, you don't want to run unless you've already got it, and you've got nothing else to work with.
