Which Rx480

I currently have an rx 480 on preorder and its the reference version. Seeing as overclocking is pretty meh with the card is there a compelling reason to spend $30-$40 more on a non-reference designed board?

How much is your reference model? $239?

Yes it is $239.99. I am not too picky on sound volume.

Temps are still much better even if overclocking is out of the question.

 

To me it's fairly straight forward:

 

1) You need a blower cooler for one of those tiny itx cases and such or

2) All else.

 

Use the reference one for 1) otherwise 2)

It seems to me that for 12% more cost there is no good reason to not just use reference as its quieter than the reference 1070 according to toms hardware. Anyone have hands on experence?

better cooling and quieter cards with more reliable power delivery...well worth it son.

Don't expect much more on the overclocking department though. Maybe a couple percents if you're lucky..
