BSODs and Graphic Problems

Ein0r

Hi

Over the past few months i got a boatload graphical issues, mostly while gaming and often while using my browser (chrome mostly, sometimes problems with firefox). Some example screenshots are at the end of the post.

The problems mostly appear instantly when i start the game. The games i played are Warframe, Hearthstone, Overwatch and Rocket League.

Another minor problem is that i see small red pixels or cluster of pixel on my black desktop background. They are not on fixed locations, if i hover my mouse over them they vanish. I only really notice them on black backgrounds. I can't test if it is my monitor (6 years old) or the dvi cable (2 years old) because i dont have any spare parts around.

I also am now the proud owner of  even more BSODs, several times a day, mostly while playing games, very seldom while watching videos on the internet. They include: Memory Managment, atikmdag.sys, modification of system code..., irql not less or equal, system service exception, and some others i forgot to write down.

At first i thought it was my gpu, so i updated the drivers which didnt help.

It seems that the current amd drivers dont support my gpu anymore and i dont know where to look. Right now i have the drivers that were on the disc 6 years ago but they dont help either, lol.

This is my PC: http://pcpartpicker.com/list/vyFsbv

I currently use Win7; i didnt format it once.

This is the link for the requested zip file from the "how to bsod post". I hope everything went right. The text is probably in german. If you need any translation please just tell me. I will remake the file too if necessary, but i dont know how to change its language.  https://mega.nz/#!tpU3ySwT!Xnwj3bM3q3zvg7SSM3016-lt-Imgq_GdLEMiVGJLX-

If you need more information just ask :)

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Those screenshots looks like artifacting which means your GPU is probably dead...

EDIT: Before you get a new graphics card, try and reinstall Windows and see if that changes anything.

gpu or power supply or monitor cable. probably gpu. don't reinstall windows. there's no need.

looks like a $99 gpu would be a big upgrade for you.

Thanks for the answers and sorry for the late reply, i just got home an hour ago.

As long as the problem is only the gpu and its driver i am fine with it. I was planning on buying a new pc around christmas anyway but the problems just kept increasing over the past few weeks which scared me a lot; especially with all those bsods.

Maybe i will go and buy a gtx 1060, even if my pc bottlenecks it for half a year, but i dont want to waste money on a gpu if i just use it for half a year, even if it is just a cheap one. And once i get my hand on it i will probably format the whole hdd, just to be 100% on the safe side.

pull the machine apart. ( everything-just like rebuilding ) ( ram out too ) clean all fans and heat sinks. pull heat sinks from gpu and cpu. clean up and reapply new thermal compound. reassemble.

Last update: Except for adding thermal paste (which i will buy the next days) i cleaned mostly everything, and also formatted my hdd. It was necessary anyway, but nothing really helped, the problems still occurr.

Before i formatted i played around with various drivers but of no avail. They either made it worse or didnt improve the situation at all. At least i have a clean hdd now ;D

I will go shopping the next days, i appreciate any suggestion.

I dont have any real preferences for radeon or geforce cards but since i only had radeon  until now i dont know much about the the cheap geforce cards.

Since the budget is rather tight the cheap version should not cost more than 80€-90€. Maybe something like a R7 240 or R7 250.

The second option is a gtx 1060. Right now i am looking at the evga one, but i am not really sure. I plan on upgrading the other parts, mainboard chip etc within half a year anyway.

Thanks to all of you for the advice :)
