Possible repair adventure

Hello, I have managed to acquire a free non functioning MacBook Air. I do not have to equipment to full teardown the comp but I got it with the back off. 

 

From what I can see the MacBook was heavily corroded by the original owner via a spill of some kind 

 

 

This spill appears to originate from the keyboard which has some gunk on it on top of the location of the corrosion  

 

This MacBook is a Model A1465 MacBook Air but nothing online can give me a straight answer as to if its from 2012, 2013, or even 2014. 

 

The board Wi-Fi card is also gone and will need to be replaced, however the SSD works and I have it. 

 

I have a few concerns about this before I try and buy a replacement board to see if I can get it up and running again. 

 

1.) The Keyboard: If the keyboard is dead (its how liquid got in so its not a bad idea to say that its gone too) then I'll have to replace it, which will cost ~$20

 

2.) The display connector  

 

Whoever took this apart seems to have messed with and potentially damaged the display connector for WHATEVER reason meaning it may need to be replaced ~$15 

 

3.) The Logic Board: The board is dead, I'm 99.99% sure of that. Replacing it wont be cheap, at least $200. My main concern is the model of board, the one I have here is an 820-3435-B and I am not sure if I can mix the logic board and the I/O boards in this chassis or if I must get the exact same 820-3435-B replacement board. 

 

4.) Wi-Fi card: The wifi card is also 99.99% guaranteed dead ~$20 

 

5.) the I/O board: The secondary board seems to be fine, but that doesn't mean it still works ~$20-30

 

 

 

So totaling everything up I can expect to spend to about $300 to repair a decent age laptop.......Would it make more sense to repair it and keep it, repair it and sell it, or sell it for parts for like $100 and not waste any time or money on the damn thing? 

 

edit* I forgot to add the coast of the tools I will need to complete this project

Get a new laptops. The mobo and keyboard is shot. Not much left. You can get a newer laptop like a t440 or a dell e6440 or e6240 for much cheaper.

Its a free laptop, they keyboard and the main board can be replaced for about $220. Cant get a laptop for that. Please read thoroughly next time

Sell it for the case and display and such. The motherboard looks fucked. I would try cleaning it up first, you never know.

Used t420/e6420 is about 200. Also the display cable looks bad, so new cable or display aswell.

board is most likely dead, how much do you think I could get for it the way it is now?

Not sure. Surf around ebay for people doing the same thing. I would try to sell each part individually, you can get more money that way if you play your cards right.

from what I see the 128GB SSD goes for $125 new

Ok, talk I would try to get it into a working system to reformat it. Also you can sell the case, and the display you can sell as "untested".

the SSD is a proprietary formfactor that I cant access without an adapter that I wont pay for. If the previous owner didnt wipe their data, too bad for them.
