1: Can someone tell me what form factor my motherboard is now? I'm buying a new one, and I need it to be the same size. I already picked one out, just need to be sure it will fit. It also needs to have 4 RAM slots, I'm upgrading to 8G RAM.

2: Is this current PC backwards from normal ones or am I dumb?

Many thanks.

Awesome, that's the form factor of the board I picked! Also, the current HDD has windows and all the files left on it (from my grandmother), if I add a GPU, replace the Motherboard (new socket), and CPU with the Pentium G2358, and reconnect the Hard Drive, it will keep existing data, and have windows? It's vista atm, but I have a windows 7 upgrade disk already.

In essence, I'm building a new PC into an old HP case. Also, idk if I'll need a new PSU, but if i do, what would you recommend as a temporary PSU?

Is it a HP? The board is just mounted upside down like what HP does a lot nowadays. The board itself is no different than any off the shelf Micro ATX board.

It may or may not work. But pretty much 90% of the time it's going to be unstable and blue screen all over the place. You are going to need to a fresh install.

So, as in, buying a new  copy of windows? Because if I need to buy a new copy of windows, I'll just install linux.

If you have the Windows 7 upgrade disk, use that.

Also, as far as a PSU goes, you'll most likely need a new one. 550 watt psu should cover most of your needs, but what cpu/gpu are you going to be installing?

750Ti and a Pentium G3258. I will just get a temporary one most likely, until I have more money later. I just wanna know what would probably work best.

This is my unofficial parts list, is there anything that'd be a better deal/should be replaced?:

If you are getting a new motherboard, and cpu I would recommend going for an amd 860k or an i3, that little pentium isn't doing to great anymore.

I'm pretty sure your windows licence is bound to your MB so if you switch it, you will need a new key for it to be legal. Also if you bought an upgrade to windows 7 it probably won't help cause I don't think you can use it to rebound your old licence to a new MB and an upgrade cannot be used as a standalone key to get win7. But I'm only 99% percent sure of the above so you've gotta confirm it.
