Hi,

I'm new to pc building and pc gaming. The issue I have encountered on my new build is the motherboard I chose does not have a wireless card. This presents the problem because I am unable to connect to my router through a cable connection. I have researched around and every usb or pci-e adapter has some sort of issue. Any suggestions on how to fix this problem( powerline, or adapter). I am looking for something that can provide a reliable gaming experience.

My build:

Case: Corsair Carbide Series SPEC-02

CPU: Intel Boxed core i5-6500 FC-LGA14C 3.20 Ghz 6M porcessor cache 4 LGA 1151

Mobo: MSI H170 Gaming M3

GPU: MSi GAMING GTX 960 2Gb OC Twin Frozr-v HDCP SLI support

RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB kit (1x8gb)

Storage: Samsung 850 evo ssd 250gb

CPU Cooling: Cooler Master Hyper 212 evo

PSU: Corsair CXM series CX500M

Monitor: Asus VE228H 21.5 in LCD monitor

I've used powerline adapters before, and they were pretty good, especially since I moved from using WiFi to the powerline. But now I'm on a direct cable to the router, and its way better. You could also consider Ethernet over Coaxial if you have a coax connection near your PC. This would probably be more reliable than powerline since this would use the shielded cables of coax rather than the regular power wires in your house which can be more prone to interference. You would need something like this adapter. EoC can be more expensive, depending on how good the powerline adapters are that you get, but then again, it's designed to perform better.

If I were in your position, I would do powerline, since it provides good reliability, at a reasonable price.
