Hi everyone,

I am very new to overclocking and I have a nnob question for you guys:

I know for a non-overclocked cpu, its frequency can vary from very low (a few mHz) when idel to max boost speed (3.5-3.9Ghz or so) when on load (correct me if i am wrong). My question is, when a cpu is overclocked, does it stay in say 4.5Ghz constantly or it still downclock itself when in idel?

Thanks

Depends on how you oc it. If you do it by adjusting the multiplyer, it normally stays at the max clock speed.
