Hyper 212X or H45?

NinjaJc01

Which should I go for, as all Cryorig coolers seem to have disappeared off the UK market for the moment?

I'll be running an i5-2500k overclocked as heavily as I can while still at fair voltages.

The price difference is only about £10.

The 212 will perform on par with a small 120mm AIO, if not better honestly. Go with the 212.

Small AIOs are stupid, 212 Evo/212X is all you need if you're not on 2011.

It looks like it might have been a typo since the graph shows the 212 Evo holding at 78c. they might have meant the 412S.

I'm not sure what the pricing of the two coolers are but here are some well priced alternatives:

SR1: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/c4xfrH/be-quiet-cpu-cooler-bk011

Kotetsu: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/7998TW/scythe-cpu-cooler-scktt1000

Macho Rev B.http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/product/4TCrxr/thermalright-cpu-cooler-machorevb

No, the result for the 212 with an OC is not there, as it overheated.

EDIT: The SR1 is super cheap in comparison.

Oh, I read the chart incorrectly. Thanks for the correction.

I think I'll go for the SR1, depending on its performance.

I can't find any performance details or reviews for the SR1, as the cooler on amazon shows 4 heatpipes, but all reviews show 3...

The official website shows 4 heatpipes. http://www.bequiet.com/en/cpucooler/253

My guess is that reviewers may have received prototypes.

I'm having trouble finding performance results for the cooler as well but it seems like it's a 'better than 212 Evo' tier and a bit behind the NH-U12S or PH-TC12DX. At worst, it should be on par with the 212 Evo.

Thank you. If it stays at that price for a month or two, I'll be buying one.

I assume not but 'better than 212 Evo' coolers tend to be well priced in the UK like the Kotetsu so you should never be short on luck.

If those are your options, I'd go for the 212 every time. 120mm AIOs aren't worth it unless you're building in a case that can't handle anything bigger.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.
