PC build under $125.

Go to solution Solved by soup,

$125 is not really much at all, certainly not enough to use new components

It is very much what you can find on/in Craigslist/dumpsters/eBay/Charity shops (we [Scotland] also have a charity called 'PassITon" that deals in cheap second hand parts same idea as the Freegeek of Linus' videos.  Sure there will be something similar in your area) etc etc

http://www.passitoncomputers.co.uk/sales.html

Even dirty components and those which have small faults can be cleaned/repaired but you have to be willing to go "ah I can't get that component to work  I'll chuck it and get another one" .

He is Australian so the price is probably quoted in Aus$

Hi all,

My friend is on a tight budget and he asked me to build him a PC but I don't know any parts that are really cheap because all my parts in my PC are over his budget so is there anyone good with cheap and old PC parts that could make me a $125 PC that can run games at 720p in high settings? Thanks in advanced!

For that kind of a budget, its straight to the used parts list for your local area.

What is available varies to an extreme based on where you live, and finding the parts will be probably pretty damn challenging.

I would highly suggest saving up another 85$, 125 is just too tight imo to get anything worth while that will perform the way you want it to.

I know that you can get motherboard, Quadcore AMD CPU and 4GB DDR2 RAM combos for about $60AUD on Gumtree once every couple of months or so, but it really depends on your areas used market and who is selling and how much they are selling it for.

$125? Off to ebay, criagslist and freegeek you go. You won't be able to get anything new, you should be able to find a core 2 quad, 4-8gb ddr2/3, and some older graphics card for $125.

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X Heatsink: Gelid Phantom Black GPU: Palit RTX 3060 Ti Dual RAM: Corsair DDR4 2x8GB 3000Mhz mobo: Asus X570-P case: Fractal Design Define C PSU: Superflower Leadex Gold 650W
