Please help me understanding better PSUs and best PSU for i5 6400 and GTX 960 OC?

WARCorporation

Hi,

I know I've been asking this question too much, but I need something a little more cheaper than 80€... Also thanks @don_svetlio for helping me choosing a PSU but as I said before, I need something a little bit cheaper (around 55-70 euros). Website: https://www.pcdiga.com/nm_catalogo.php?ID_ORG=94&pagina=3&ordem=3&categoria=&marca

Also:

 - The Corsair B600 ver. 2 is good for my needs?

 - Can you please explain me the differences between one PSU and another?

 - And... (if it isn't asking too much) can you help me understand what a PSU needs in order to be "good"? I did read the this post: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/31518-psus-finding-the-right-one// and I did understand the most part but I couldn't understand the differences between one and another.

I hope you can explain me,

Thanks

I've not heard of a Corsair B series. Don't think such a thing exists honestly.

@hewittla Yeah I know that... There's crappy PSUs for like 20 euros and I'm not gonna buy crappy PSUs that's what I'm trying to understand. What model, brand... etc is better.

The CX500w from Corsair isn't that great... is it @don_svetlio?

No, it's CXv3 therefore it's crap

1 - 80+ doesn't mean jack shit with regard to quality
2 - Corsair don't make anything beyond the sticker they sell you - they outsource everything and buy from CWT, SeaSonic, Enhance, Flextronics, Great Wall and etc

@WARCorporation a good way to buy a decent PSU is to read reviews in GREAT DETAIL. Use sites like JohnyGURU or HardwareSecrets

A piece of advice

minimum of 40*C temp rating
preferably Japanese capacitors
pay attention to voltage and ripple
make sure the build quality is good.

@hewittla I don't like fancy things, I just like things that are cheap and work correctly. If the PSU decides to f*** all my parts I won't be able to buy them again.

The B600 isn't great.

Some are better than others.

It needs quality components and to have acceptable ripple levels and not catch fire.

Check out the PSU Tier List in my signature which should help you lots.

Should be fine as long as you don't go crazy with extreme OCs

A 960 and locked i5 would need to be on LN2 and binned super poorly to get beyond 275W.
