Should I upgrade?

I was wondering if I should upgrade my pc. I have an i-7 4770k, and 970, 16gb of ram, an Msi z97 gaming motherboard, 2tb of storage, cooler master aio, and a 750 watt power supply. I was thinking about upgrading to a 1070, or a 1080, but I dont know if I should just scrap my current pc and build a new one.

I personally wouldn't, but if you have the money, a 1070 is about 50% faster. Your cpu is fine.

Why would you? Your PC can still run nearly everything at max setting.

Unless you start running into multiple games that you just cannot play or if you don't want to accept lower settings, don't bother upgrading.

If you don't have a SSD, you could just get that.

If the cash is available, I'd keep the rest, and shove a 1070 in.

Get an SSD if you don't already have one. That would make the most noticeable performance boost for general use. A 1070 would be nice but not necessary. the CPU platform definitely won't need an upgrade for at least 2 years, and even then I imagine it'll still be relevant. (IMHO)
