Random Spontaneous Artifacting

Go to solution Solved by Volbet,

I just tried IE and there is no artifacting in IE... How very odd.

It might be a problem with the hardware acceleration in Chrome. You can try reinstalling Chrome to see if it helps.

Ok, so about 10 minutes ago all of a sudden, any image, animation, or video on Chrome will start artifacting. I have no overclock on my gpu or cpu, I haven't messed with anything. This is completely spontaneous. Here's an example of the artifacting that I recorded:

Anyone know what could be causing this? I certainly hope it's not a gpu problem. But if it is, it's still in warranty.

What are the temperature on the GPUs? Does this only happend in Flash?

You can try reinstalling the driver, and if you are on a beta driver, try rolling back to the latest stable release.

Temps on my GPU are fine. It happens with any image or video, as well as with flash. I'll try rolling back drivers to see if that helps.

I would try reinstalling the graphics card driver You can also try to see if the problem occours in a different browser.

I tried playing a game before I install older drivers to see if it really is the GPU. Games have no artifacting whatsoever. Seems like a Chrome-specific problem.

what is your current drivers?

AMD Catalyst 13.10 Beta 2

As I said, try reinstalling Chrome. If that doesn't help, it might be a conflict between the beta driver and the Chrome hardware acceleration, so reinstalling the latetest stable release might not be a bad idea if everything else fail.

It seems turning off then back on hardware acceleration fixed the issue. If I have any further problems, I'll reinstall Chrome/roll back to older drivers.

Thanks for the help.
