My build wouldn't post now

So I have a 600b evga power supply i5 6600k cpu 8x1gb of hyperx ram asrock z170 pro4s and a cpu cooler so the problem is I got it to post once and everything looked good and I turned it off to move it to a place down the street so I could download everything and now all it will say on the screen is reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device?

And it's saying reboot and select proper boot device or insert boot media in selected boot device and press a key

how are you getting text to display if it wont post? do you have a hdd /ssd or bootable flash drive connected ?

insert a windows install disk/usb to make ine download the windows media creation tool from microsofts website

im assuming its empty, so youll need to make a bootable usb drive and install an os

So I cant just buy a key and I have to buy a usb key or can I put an downloaded key on a usb?

no the download is free but you have to buy a key or use a key you have spare

So if I buy a key put it on a thumb drive plug it in to the pc I should be able to download windows and make it work

Lol, this keeps going downhill. Check to see if the sata controller is working before doing that. Also, lots of software key misconceptions flying around...
