No post, PSU should be fine

Go to solution Solved by tmoto2,

I tried to boot with a different PSU, same result nothing happened.

I replaced the Moterboard (Asus Rampage II Extreme) with a MSI x58 Pro-E and it´s booting agian.

Hello everyone,

my pc doesn't post anymore (specs in profile). A few days ago when i tried to boot the pc the fans started spinning but the usual beep that usually can be heard right before a picture is displayed on the monitor didn't happen. After a few more tries the pc didn't post at all.

The PSU should be fine, the paperclip test was succesfull.

Is my motherboard and or cpu dead? How can I check that?

Thanks in advance

I can do this, I just want some cake. - Linus Sebastian

Have you tried a different PSU yet?

There is a pin on the 24pin connector labeld PWR_OK. If your PSU doesn't have working/stable voltages after 500ms, your mainboard refuses to post. (at least 500ms is the design guide spec)

Shorting the green PS_ON# cable to ground only shows that your PSU is generating any voltages at all.
