TW : Warhammer Benchmarking

So Total war; Warhammer has been out for a little while now, and to be frank I'm disappointed at how little it's been used to benchmark. 

 

Addmitedly previous games from the Crative Assembly have been optimised like a coat hanger for grating cheese (I'm not sure how it's doing, exactly, but it ran decently on my 660, only got to test it shortly).

But this one has gotten extra attention. It now has dx11 and 12 support. It would also be a candidate to show if there is any multi core improvement with dx12 (wasn't that supposed to be a thing. Never heard more) since it can be cpu intensive. 

 

I remember Luke used Attila, but that was broken beyond any doubt.

With the lack of dx12 games availibe to benchmark it makes sense as a candidate. So thoughts as to why it's not being used?

It perform worst on Nvidia cards in DX12 so it won't reflect real world performance,  at least until they fix it.  - Honest Reviewers

Yeah, I'm not sure why everyone has a hardon for this game. Doesn't seem very optimized.

Maybe they are relying on Nvidia and AMD to do their work for them and optimize it through the drivers?

Well it is shit.....when it comes to the TIM which even after being "improved" is bad at transferring heat...(I can have my Xeon X5450 pulling well over 150W without overheating, my 4790K at 4.5GHz/1.3V pulling 100W-not a chance).

And what the shit! My 4790k does 4.6GHz undervolted to 1.12v.

All I can say about overclocking on LGA1150-fuck that shit, get an LGA771 Xeon. Going to try undervolting now....

The big problem is people use shit motherboards and blame the platform. My 4790k is twice the CPU using my MPOWER verses the UD3 I had. Haswell like clean power, those phases make a huge difference.

And now you see why I hate games being used to compare cards that don't have canned benchmarks. Too easy to control where you sample from to sway the results. Why I like his videos, he just plays the game and lets you watch.

I was going with an MPower, but when I saw a Z97 Sabertooth MKII for a lot less, I went with it. So far 4.6GHz at 1.25V is stable.

I lucked out and got my MPOWER for 100us brand new. Was a display item and the manager on duty had no idea what it was.

Lucky. Some people know what their store sells, but when it comes to doing refunds they know jack shit. 4.7GHz at 1.25V is all my 4790K seems to want to do.

Looking at those benchmarks, they are a little underwhelming, especially for such cards. 

Seems it still needs some polish... 

Still, I'd love for a group like Digital Foundry to give their thoughts and analyze it.

Jsesus that's horrific looking at the 1070, the other two also show some stutter but the 1070 is a POS.

Also anyone have a word as to how dx12 is doing with multthreaded workloads. Any improvements? Has it not happened, or has no one implemented it yet?
