Need internet connection at get-together, no idea how

Having a get-together at an older historic house where there is no internet (and we had no plans on needing it, just some extended family prior to a large trip we're all taking). However we would like to Skype/video chat in someone for a short time (~half hour or so) and I don't know how I would do this.

 

I have a laptop (Win x64) and Galaxy S5, is that enough for a mobile hotspot or something, or do I need some other hardware? I've never done this so appreciate any help. Thanks!

Just use mobile data, unless you're so far in the middle of no where there's no service.

Use your phone to set up a hotspot using 3 or 4G (it will use your mobile data) and connect your laptop to the hotspot.

Maybe buy extra data just in case, so you don't run out.
