So I recently built a gaming pc.  As I was on a budget and a friend of mine had a hdd with Windows 7 on it which he was willing to give me for free of course I took it.  Now that I am finished my build and I can finally boot up my pc, I am having some major issues.  Everything boots up but, my friend did a factory reboot on the hard drive and I have no drivers or internet connection and apparently you need a driver for the usb port to work.  This wouldn't be an issue except I don't have a disk drive included in my build.

I am using an ethernet cable and still nothing.  For those of you wondering, my mobo is a MSI z170a SLI plus.

You should not be using his hard drive, do a clean install.

It's easy to clean install windows 10, but first you need to use a keyfinder to get the key out of the windows 7 installation.

Then follow these steps:

Shouldn't use his HDD. Get a clean install of windows 10 (it's free!) which is simple to do.

I just run Windows 10 without an activation key so that I don't have to pay... because I don't have the mooneys
