Do aftermarket CPU fans transfer?

If i buy a fan cooler, and then 3 years from now get a new cpu from the same brand. are chances good that i can still use the same cooler?

Depends on what CPU you get, and what kind of activity you did on it

A lot of the current coolers are usable with LGA sockets (all of them), so I don't see why it would change since the companies would rather have one cooler working with as many motherboards as possible. But I can't say for certain if that will or will not change.

If it doesn't have native socket support, most popular coolers will have brackets for new sockets.
