2300$ / 15000:- Quite(ish) build in time for BF4.

1. Budget & Location
I've set a budget of 15000:- SEK which translates to ~2330$ USD. Tax here in Sweden is 25%, so 1864$ without tax.

2. Aim

I want to be able to push a lot of graphics - 1440p, 60 fps, preferably maxed out graphics while recording with Dxtory. I am well aware of the fact that I won't be able to max out every game at 1440p while maintaining 50+ fps, but I want to get as close as possible. Video rendering on the side. Modding the hell out of Skyrim is going to be a blast, heard it requires quite a bit of CPU power.

3. Monitors

Right now I'm running a weird setup, but I plan on settling for a main monitor at  2560x1440 and two 1920x1080 on the sides. Only gonna use my main monitor for gaming so no surround gaming or 3D.

4. Peripherals
Don't need any at the moment and I've already got Win 7 64-bit, so I've got that covered.

5. Why are you upgrading?
Current rig is a 2 year-old 850$ rig, so I felt like it was time for a major upgrade in order to run new games coming out with all the eye candy "on".

My new build so far:

Case - Corsair Obsidian 350D w/ window
MoBo - Asus Maximus VI Gene
CPU - Intel Core i7 4770K 3,50GHz Socket 1150 Box
RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws X DDR3 PC10666/1333MHz CL9 2x8GB (F3-10666CL9D-16GBXL)
GPU - Asus GeForce GTX780-DC2OC-3GD5 3GB
PSU - Be-Quiet Power Zone 650W
CPU Cooling - Corsair Hydro H100i
Fans - Noctua NF-F12 PWM 120mm X3 + Noctua NF-A14 FLX 140mm

Side notes:
- I don't have any storage on this list because I'm bringing the HDDs I have in my current PC over to the new one.

- I'm replacing all the fans in the case with Noctua fans, this is where the "quiet(ish)" part comes in. The 140mm will go in the front as intake, one of the 120s will go in the back as exhaust and the other two pulling air through the H100i at the top also as exhaust.

- I've been trying to do a bit of research concerning the PSU but I'm still not sure about it. I'm planing on overclocking my CPU and GPU, and I might add another 780 (far) down the line. So I don't think the 650W is overkill, but I'm open for suggestions.

- Going for a classic red and black color scheme. Was thinking of getting some red light strips in there as well but it might become a little bit too red, idk.

Thanks to anyone giving feedback I appreciate it. ^-^

If you don't want the noctua fans to rape your colour scheme get some geild or Be quiet! silent wings 2. And get 1600mhz ram.

And if you want to sli 780's a 750w-850w would be the best 650W would have a very hard time with dual 780's. Get a h220 if you can. And get a cheaper psu brand. Be quiet charges alot for their psus, Maybe that's just in the states though.

A single GTX 780 won't max out BF4 at 1440p, so if that really is your goal, you'll need a dual GPU solution. You could go down to an i5 4670k, get a cheaper motherboard and an air cooler (which will actually be quiter than the h100i) to save some money, possibly allowing you to get a second 780.

Get rid of the 4770K and get a 4670K. Saves about $100 USD. For gaming, you won't need hyperthreading. Upgrade the RAM to 1600MHz.

Get a Seasonic PSU 80 Plus Gold. I think the Seasonic X 750 or 850 watt is like $150-$180.

Yeah I'm a little concerned about the noctua fans ruining the look. I'm looking at the Be quiet! shadow wings 120mm Mid and 140mm. I save ~40$ so that's great. ^-^ I can't get the H220 though, the only way I can get it is to ship it from the UK which will set me back 233$ tax and shipping included compared to the H100i at 148$. :/ I switched from the Be quiet! power zone 650 to the OCZ Fatal1ty 750W. It has a cheezy light effect but it might look kinda cool with the rest of my build. ;/

Oh, I'm so sorry, you're right! But it kind of messes up my cooling solution since it doesn't support a 240 rad up top. If I go for air cooling in the end though, this might be the case I go for. ^-^

You should go for AMD GPU for Frostbite 3 games, it is better optimized and supports Mantle.

That being said, wait for the R9-290X, you will get the BF4 Digital deluxe + Premium for free.

Yeah, I was afraid a single 780 wouldn't cut it. I don't need to max everything out so I'm content with a single for now. I'll have enough for another one 2-3 months from now if I really want more power. ^-^

Is 1600MHz Ram really worth it over 1333MHz, I'm under the impression that it doesn't do much at all. :/ I switched the Noctuas out for Be Quiet! fans which brought me down the same price as the SP120s and AF140. As for the PSU I switched over to the OCZ Fatal1ty 750W, sounds and looks a little cheezy but is supposed to be good for the money at 130$.

PSU: If you want to have a quiet PSU, then go for a corsair RM/AXi, seasonic X 750. Those 3 PSU's don't let the fan spin when it's not needed. Around ~40% load the fan starts to spin.

Ram: For gaming 1866 CL9 ram is the sweet spot. But 1600 is fine aswell. Indeed 1333 isn't much worse either, but I would suggest to grab 1600 or 1866. Het 8GB (2x4GB) then you can always upgrade to 16 when you need it.

GPU: As everyone said, wait for the R290x. That one should handle BF4 really good.

Case:I would suggest the fractal R4 over the corsair. You will notice the diffrence in noise.

Case fans: Noctua NF-F12 win in terms off performance/silence. But the be quiet! ones are great, I would personally use cooler master sickeflows. Those are black/red (leds) fans and are cheap. but still perform great and not to much louder then the be quiet, noctua.

Mobo: Asus maximus VI hero. Great onboard sound, red/black color scheme. SLI/CF able. Good OCer aswell.

CPU:For gaming the i5 4670K is more then enough. If you have left over budget it's never a bad thing to get the i7, wich will maybe in the future be 'better' for gaming, when the games start to make use off the HT. But for now, the i7 and i5 are insanely close together in frames. about 1/2 at max that they differ, heck sometimes the i5 beats the i7.

CPU Cooler: h100i is the best value AIO watercooler. But have to replace those fans.

So TLDR;

Intel i5-4670K

Asus Maximus VI Hero

Corsair Vengeance Pro - Red 8GB 1866 CL9

Corsair H100i

Corsair RM750

AMD R9-290x

Fractal Design Define R4 windowed.

5x CoolerMaster Sickleflow 120mm - red.

Note: I don't know about your current storage, if you dont have an SSD. then get one aswell, Samsung EVO 120GB is more then enough for me personally, but if you think you need more, well then you have to pay for it.

Edit: I tried to get this build via komplett.se, but I couldn't get all the parts, I don't know any other swedish pc stores. So I tried to make a german one, those parts apperntly are not on PPP. So im sorry.

1866 isn't really the sweet spot for gaming. 1866 is the sweet spot for Haswell in general, but it has no benefits in games over 1600. 1600 is fine for gaming only.

Desktop: Intel i5-3570K (stock) | Asus Sabertooth Z77 | G.Skill RipJaw 16GB 1600MHz | Samsung 840 120GB | EVGA GTX 680 SC+ 2GB | Fractal Design R4 | Windows 8 Pro (soon to have dual boot Mac OS X)

Retina Macbook Pro : Intel i7-3840QM | 16GB 1600 MHz | 256GB SSD | Nvidia GT 650M 1GB | Mac OS X 10.8.5

Just a slight increase in frames. Not much, but well if you want your build to be matched with the 290x, then well. Why not? it's only slightly more expensive.

Change case to a Fractal R4, then whatever you get is going to be silent anyway ;p

Case has nothing to do with silence, it's the fans within the case. I used an R4 and use the same fans found on a Phanteks cooler + stock fans + a 140mm Noctua and the thing still got loud if the fans were a certain rpm. The R4's foam doesn't magically make a case uber silent on its own. ;)
