I'm planning to build a wall mounted PC and I often read something like the pcie riser cable can reduce the performance of the graphics. Is it true?

Get the correct type, which is x8 / x16. It better be of good quality too. If these criteria are satisfied, your riser will work just fine :)!

Nothing to see here ;)

x16 cable shouldn't affect performance, just make sure you get a good quality shielded cable. Cheap cables usually aren't shielded properly and will cause problems.

It shouldn't! If it really is x16, it will perform as if the GPU is directly plugged into the motherboard - it's that good!
