Recommend me a laptop

If not, a macbook pro is the best in terms of power/batterylife/formfactor.

The caveat of a Macbook Pro is you HAVE to run OSX. If you run bootcamp on it, alot of it's advantages are gone. It has lower battery life, runs hotter consistently cause hardware isn't as optimized (and considering Apple ALREADY thermal throttles your shit on OSX, it's a worst experience on Windows). Scaling becomes issues as well as 1800p issues. Also, they don't have the best dGPU when it comes to gaming on Windows so worst off again. There's few use cases where a Macbook Pro should be recommended.

With your budget, you can make dreams come true, if it wasn't on newegg LOL. We can all give you better recommendations if it wasn't restricted onto Newegg. If your adamant on Newegg and getting the Aorus, make sure you repaste it and undervolt it with Intel XTU or Thrrotle Stop. Will bring down the heat a bit.

And thin and light? I don't think so. I was looking at the Aorus x7 DT as well.

I like to kill hardware. In 2016 alone I have killed 20 Xeon 5160, and 10+ Pentium 4.

LOL K. Sure.

Your Aorus X5s:

- 5.51 pounds

- 50-55db under load

- Throttles and overheats under load

- 4k screen scaling issues in Windows and no GSync to smooth out frame dips

- 3.5-4 hours of casual use battery life

- Looks cooler

- Expensive AF at $2500 USD

- Meh Bios

P650RG:

- 5.4-6 pounds (mostly depending how many HDD's you throw in it)

- 40-45 db underload

- Doesn't throttle, doesn't overheat, OC headroom available if 6820HK is chosen

- 1080p GSync Screen (980m can only really run Ultra+ at 1080p at around 40-50 frames which is perfect for GSync)

- 4-4.5 hours of casual use battery life

- Looks plain

- Much cheaper

- Prema Bios

Sure, it's a bit A BIT thicker. But there's no getting round thermal physics. If you want a 980m, best in class is P650RG

They can all get 14+ hours of battery life, the x260 you can get up to around 24 hours if you are good. Well I commented on the battery part, but I can just bring up the T460p then, it has a quad core and a dGPU and has over 9 hours of battery. Just so you know it , it is not all MacBook Pro's that has a quad core and a dGPU, so you might want to clarify that you are thinking of those the next time ;)

And its also 4.5 pounds and .7 inches thick ? Look at my original statement... which was basically saying the macbook made the best compromises. There are more powerful laptops, easily, however those laptops are either: heavier, get worse battery life, or are significantly bigger.

I have a 2019 macbook pro with 64gb of ram and my gaming pc has been in the closet since 2018

In your original statement you said jack shit about quad core and dGPU and then you come after and say it. A T460s is better than a MacBook "pro" 13 in every single way, better build, better keyboard, better battery life, better support and better cooling, so it does not thermal throttle. The only reason why you should get a MacBook "pro" over it, is if you edit videos. TBH there is nothing pro about the MacBook pro.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

and the T460s also have room for a NVMe ssd, so storage is also faster. Ps. I fix laptops and I know what is up with build, so don't come here with the oh the MacBook is build better because of the alu body, it is NOT build better.

well that can still be the 13 inch since the CPU in it should be more powerful than any other normal ULV CPU

I agree, however lets look at the context of thread.

he seems to be wanting a laptop that can play games and play them well, a MacBook Pro 15 cannot do that. Sure the MacBook beats every other PC when it comes to battery life, but it thermal throttles and then the "power" goes down

Bit biased since I own one as my main pc but id strongly recommend a Gigabyte P35X V5.

Good:

-Available on newegg, I picked up my base model p35x v4 with 1080p screen for us$1750 on there and added ram and ssds myself

-980m, its going to struggle to game at 4k but blasts through aaa titles at 1080p

-bargain spec for price, much thinner lighter design than competeing SAGERs

-Cant talk for the 4k but the 1080p ips display is lovely with rich colours

-dvd/bluray drive is nice, without that it is also one of the few 15" laptops you can upgrade to have a 2nd hdd

-DVI I use mine in work, it has an old school dvi analogue output which is a life saver for using with office equipment

-styling, doesnt have the 'gamer' look so you dont look like a manchild using it on the go

Bad:

-sound, under full load it can be loud

-heat it sits the cpu in the 90s and gpu in the 80s, however the gpu DOES NOT THROTTLE at all. The CPU throttles about 15% under full load out the box but a stable undervolt fixxed that

I mean its the thinnest lappy I could find with a 980 so the sound and heat issues are a given but if you can get over them its a great bit of kit.

Edit: its basicly a cheaper, nicer looking (imo) version of the Aorus you are currently looking at, I would strongly recommend a 1080p screen though, single laptop gpus just arnt there yet for 4k gaming.

PC:

Monolith(Laptop): CPU: i7 5700HQ GPU: GTX 980M 8GB RAM: 2x8GB 1600MHz Storage: 2x128GB Samsung 850 EVO(Raid 0) + 1TB HGST 7200RPM Model: Gigabyte P35XV4 Mouse: Razer Orochi Headset: Turtle Beach Stealth 450

IoT:

Router: Netgear D7000 Nighthawk

NAS: Synology DS218j, 2x 4TB Seagate Ironwolf

Media Accelerator: Nvidia Shield via Plex

Phone: Sony Xperia X Compact
