So my dad's laptop can't play youtube videos. I'm not sure what's going on it's the only device in the household that can't play youtube videos. I've also checked websites for a fix to no avail such as change dns, try to check if java is enabled etc etc etc... it's windows 7 because he prefers the OS I tried reformatting it and now it has a fresh install of windows 7 but alas youtube still doesn't work. I've tried checking other sites such as twitch and facebook videos they all work. it's just freaking youtube has anyone ever encountered this ? I've checked other browsers and it's still the same. I tried restarting my Modem incase it's an internet problem but it still can't play youtube videos. all other pc's are fine it's just this laptop.

Try to turn off hardware acceleration

Chrome > Settings.

Click on "Show advanced settings" and scroll to the "System" section.

Uncheck "Use hardware acceleration when available" and restart Google Chrome.

Or, conversely, try enabling Hardware Acceleration if it's off.

What are the specs of the laptop? What does it use for a graphics device?

Have you installed the latest graphics driver for the hardware?
