Cheapest server

Hello guys, I wanna build a cheapest server rack, i have case under eye cool and cheap, but i have no idea what motherboard cpu and ram i will take..This server will be for ftp server out side my home or vpn server for conect to server out side, home cloud, for smartphones tablets laptops and desktops, i will use linux cli no graphics interface just command line, so dont need good and expensive hardware, i guess celeron socket 1151 and 8gb of ram ddr4 is good for me, what you think about that? I have preff to my this hardware in Portugal because i dont wanna have any cost in costums when i buy on ebay etc.. i will use minimum 5tb total this is my minimum. Thanks for help!

Why a proper rack mount?

If cost is so important to you go for a cheaper case .  IMHO you only need rack mounts if you have a rack; say a server, couple of switches/hubs (do hubs still exist these days), maybe a UPS if the unit is just sitting in a cupboard under the stairs and you are going for low cost ,Amazon/eBay is your friend.

Check ebay for systems like used t410's or used t110

Im building my personalized rack mounts is starter will be for switch for all home and for this server, in the future will be for more. This case is not to expensive for what i want, it takes 6+ hd's i guess and compatible with atx psu, i will use ups to, sometimes my eletricity is instable

im restricted about buying out side my country.. if it pass 25€+ i will pay a lot taxes for costums.. what i dont want.. if it comes from spain france is good for me because is "near" Portugal.

Check ebay and craigslist(or what ever there is your area.)

What OS do you plan to run on this, as the use you have mentioned wouldn't require very good specifications; I reckon you could do that with minimal amount of RAM/CPU which could save you a considerable amount.
