Do integrated and dedicated graphics work together?

Like if i had integrated graphics on my CPU or even an APU would it boost the graphical capabilities by working with a dedicated GPU like the 950?

For starters, that assumes your motherboard even allows the iGPU to be active when you have a dGPU, as some disable it automatically without you being able to do anything about it.

 

But assuming you can use both, the answer is no, unless you have software specifically coded for it (which, atm, I don't think any exists yet).

It is a function that is enabled in games that support the feature(and only DX12 games), which is called Multi-Adapter.

thanks, so having an APU and a GPU working ttogether could increas fps if the CPU is not a bottleneck?

Yes, but only in DX12 games, and the games themselves must support the feature. It is not a default function that is there in all titles. It must be used by the developer.

Your BIOS may allow you to use the iGPU for a monitor but gaming performance will rely on the CPU not the GPU.

Gna be using a Nvidia GTX 950 so doesnt really apply hear but thanks anyways

That has to be specifically enabled in the drivers, but you are correct.

The game will still rely on the IGP for rendering.

It is not the CPU as a function though. CPUs as a function are terrible at rendering 3D graphics.
