No sound from rear speakers

Hello,

 

I have a sound blaster z 5.1 sound card and I just purchased Logitech's z506 5.1 surround sound.  I am hooking it up with analog via the 3.5 mm audio cables.  I have connected every combination there is and I still cannot get rear audio.  I have uninstalled on board drivers and software and have even disabled onboard from the bios.  I have the latest creative sound drivers.  I have even downloaded 5.1 audio test files and still no audio from the rear speakers.  Any help would be grateful.

When enabling the speakers, did you set it to 5.1 surround sound like this?

Yes that is exactly how I had it.  Interestingly I get them to play correctly if I only have one of the audio jacks plugged in.  For instance if I only have the rear plug in it plays rear audio and so on for the rest but once more than one is plugged in I loose the rear audio.
