Sound bar woes

Hey guys just bought a sound bar

Anyway i hooked it up to my pc through hdmi, and i believe its working as it should, but im having trouble getting any audio out of my ps4 using the optical cable.

I tried Bluetooth, but it said something about unsupported profile or something, i looked it up and people say i cant because of some nonsense or another.

Is there any advice you guys can give me, the only reason i bought this is because they said it was simple, it may be my personal set up that's causing problems

but it doesn't feel simple lol.

Ps. it is surround so id like to make sure thats still gonna be working, also if theres anyway to avoid having to keep playing with the sound bar to switch between the ps4 and pc thatd be great.

on the PS4 did yo make sure the sound was set to optical in the menu? since it tries to output audio over HDMI as standard

Yes i did, but sound kept coming out of my monitor. and i couldnt get anything out of my sound bar
