You could upgrade to that CPU with the new cooler but please say you're using the graphics card for output.

How do u change that and what does it mean? ( output )

Well, it does improve performance of your pc, but on games where the graphics card is the bottleneck (graphics card maxes out cpu doesnt) then it wont benefit from a better cpu. And you need to find out what power supply do you have? Just to make sure it has enough power.

You can research this yourself if you wish. Bottlenecking is when something has more power than something else and it cant keep up with the thing that is more powerful. For example a GTX 1080 may bottleneck an I3 because the GPU is more powerful that the I3.

Although I dont think that with your current graphics card and cpu the graphics card will be the bottleneck in many cases :P So in most games it would improve fps.

Actually its the other way around, the i3 will bottleneck the 1080 because the i3 cant keep up to the 1080. The i3 would be running at 100% usage, and capping out, while the 1080 would be 50% or something. Hope this explains :D atleast a bit.

You can buy the CPU, and with your current CPU I recommend going to the A10 series. For the exact cpu tho dont ask for me Im more of an Intel person :P. I dont think your GPU will be such a bottleneck, and if it turns out to be one then you can always overclock it :D (Ill explain that later)

Explained every but I'm confused about whether I'm buying a cpu or apu. I need a cpu

Its an APU, (a good cpu bundled with a not so good graphics card) "All of Intel’s processors from here on, with the exception of the Atom processor, will be APUs. AMD’s entire line of processors will be updated to APUs by the end of this year" that was an old post though, like 2011.  So its basically a cpu, it just happens to have a bad graphics card in it as a bonus (its common nowadays). So go for it :)   Oh and welcome to the LTT forums. (Check out the "Experiences with non techies topic, its full of hilarious stories I can tell its really addictive lol.) Have fun with your soon-to-be-upgraded pc ;)

Your suggesting the GPU is struggling by saying  "the i3 will bottleneck the 1080". The 1080 is causing the I3 to bottleneck. Not the I3 straining the GPU. If the GPU was taken out the CPU would be fine. Not the CPU's fault and you cant remove the CPU over wise it is no longer a operating system.
