I plugged it into my laptop and it still had the image burned in if that's what you're after. I'm not dumb.

It's relatively new. It's a Dell U2412M.

Cards in question are two 7950's.

other people will probably be fine

Warning to all people running crossfire and possibly SLI. If you use the steam browser overlay in game, while you're running a game with crossfire on, it will cause the browser page to rapidly flicker. The extremely fast flashing will create screen burn in very very quickly.

I went to go get something to drink while I left it open with a you tube video running within the browser (GTAV waiting for people to join a heist). When I got back and closed the interface.... it was burned into a very pricey Dell screen. Luckily it has built in LCD conditioning. I'm having that run while I type this and it seems to be helping. I had noticed it to a much more minor extant while switching back-n-fourth between it and GTAV, but shrugged it off as steam acting up.

Do not use the Steam browser while in game if you're using crossfire.

You will ruin your monitor. Hopefully a patched will eventually come out from either Valve or AMD, but I doubt there ever will be given one seeing how no one uses the Steam browser.

Steam still flicker real fierce while doing that. That can't be good can it? Also apparently am dumb for not looking into my screen more.

monitors made today can still have images get burned on them? i thought that was a thing of the past.

It is for the most part. LCD screens are very resistant to it, but it can still happen. It takes some extreme scenarios for it to come up.

That, interesting, to say the least.  Good thing I don't have dual GPUs or use Steam overlay and always lock the computer when walking away

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

Is this repeatable? Can you link to anybody else this has happened to? Does this happen when you disable Crossfire?

This should be repeatable. The flickering in the steam web browser, while in game with crossfire on, has always happened to me. Just never left it open long enough for it to have a effect till now.

Weird... can someone else still test it out to make sure? Just moved and got rid of all my spares.
