Yes, technically single core performance you can get i3-6100 to compete fairly well against a i7-6700k if you put it with very good cooling and BCLK it to 4.4-5GHz.

Though, the i7 is much better.

Ok, I guess the recommendations were based solely on arma 3 then.

For Arma 3 the i7 will benefit heavily in.
