HD7990 resistors blown

Hi there

 

I am receiving a HD7990 graphics card from my friend, i know its old tech but is it possible to replace the resistors on the gpu and get it running again?

If it's ONLY the resistors that are blown, then sure. But I gotta warn ya, usually when resistors blow, they take other things together with it.. That's because it takes some serious out-of-spec conditions to blow a resistor and resistors are one of the more robust electronics component.

just try it. but after fix the resistor, try it on a low profile rig

Can we have some pictures? I'm not 100% sure but I think you mean capacitors. I've never heard of blown resistors in computers.

Yeah how do you even know it's blown resistors?

 

Anyway, SMD resistors can be replaced, as can SMD capacitors, but it's difficult work. You'll need special equipment and expertise.
