Do I need a soundcard ? ._. (Z97S Krait MOBO + Fidelio X2 Headphones + Antlion Modmic 4.0)

Am like , am putting a new rig together,  been wondering - should I?

 

the headphones and mic ish 350$ value  idk if they really need any boost ;w; 

 

I never really had any HIFI sound experience , not atleast one that I could compare to non-hifi :U , am usually using only Flac files for music.

 

So , yes? no? Internal? External? (rather internal but may change my mind according to arguments made)

The only real way to make your headphones more fancy is by buying a new pair OR getting a Tube Amp but that's not really what you should look into at the beginning of your journey.

Well you could also get a speaker system or multiple headphones like me and quite a lot of people on this forum have.

Other than that only Files but you already use FLACs so...

For $350 I would recommend the Schiit Magni+Modi Uber. I feel that some of our members here are a bit too zealous on the anti- DAC+amp crusade. Given that you already have decent headphones, there is no reason not get send on electronics as long as you understand that it will have a limited impact on the sound.

Since you're using that particular pair of headphones I would personally ditch the Antlion microphone, in favor of a V-Moda BoomPro microphone. Simply because dealing with less chords, is always better.

would've , but already spent $50 on a quality mic and am pleased , its not always attached , only when  i need it. I keep it packed and protected on my desk ^_^.
