Can't get into BIOS :(

Hello everyone . So i am planning to format my pc in the coming days but a major problem i have is that i just can't seem to be able to get into my BIOS to set my pc to boot from the disk drive etc. I keep pressing F12 but nothing happens. Windows aren't responding at all to the keyboard , it feels like it isn't plugged in . I tried with different keyboards as well but to no result... Any suggestions ? Only possible explanation that i  could think of is that the keyboards that i have used all have a usb connection to the motherboard. And since the motherboard is pretty old (10+ years) it maybe can't recognize the usb keyboard until it fully boots into windows ? I don't know maybe i am wrong but just putting in my 2 cents . Did you turn the keyboard on?

Are you sure the key to access BIOS isn't delete or f10 or something like that?

Try using 'delete' or 'F2' 

 

A PS/2 keyboard would be perfect for something like this though.

get a couple of ps2/usb adapters. on some of these old boards I still find the need to have an actual Microsoft mouse because no others will work.

 

by the way, what about the del key?

What he meant is to press the delete key.

Nah it isnt about delete or F2 key , i checked all of them, it doesnt seem to respond to any key whatsoever . It is probably the usb issue , motherboard's probably too old to support a usb keyboard . I guess i will have to get an adapter like you said because i dont have that kind of a keyboard anymore. Thanks for the info though !

It's disabled, so you'll need a PS/2 first. 10+ years supports USB keyboard, even on boot.
