So I wanted to test to see how well my 3 year old Seagate/Samsung Spinpoint Momentus was doing and it says that it failed its SMART test that I ran on it so I wasnt sure what that meant. It fails the read test.

Its gonna work fine until you need that chunk of your drive and then it will slow down your system in iowait and screw everything up. 

 

BUY A NEW DRIVE.

It's not my main drive I just wanted to check to see if it has some life left in it for when I build my PC and use it as a secondary boot drive for Debian or Ubuntu

I'm seeing both read and writes errors

Gotcha well maybe not use it for a dual boot drive for Ubuntu or Debian.
