Is Build Compatible

Hello, I've been looking for a good place to talk to people about computer hardware and well, I've been watching LinusTechTips for awhile now and I checked out this forums.

I wanted to find out from other people, their opinions on this build. This is all selected by me and I have no idea if it works or not (although i have a good feeling it does).

Here is my Build: My Motherboard is a Gigabyte AM3+(GA-970A-DS3P).

My CPU is an AMD FX-8320E  Octa Core.

My GPU is a Gigabyte GeForce GTX 960 4GB DDR5 OC

My RAM is Crucial Ballistix 16 GB (8GB x 2)

My PSU is an EVGA 500W  B1 Bronze power supply

My Hard drive is a  WD 1TB

My Monitor is a ViewSonic VX2252MH

My Case is a Thermaltake Versa N21

Thanks for reading my post!

It should work, but you can get better parts for the price.

First get a intel 6400 instead of a 8320. The 8320 is hot and slow and old.

Id get a rx 480 instead of a 960, faster and same price.

you make it seems like its bad cpu? sure its not as good as intel but its not crap. Unless you actaully had the cpu then you can call it shit all you want.
Also yeah get the 480 if you live in 'murica. if eu then the 480 isnt really worth the price

Please stop it. The CPU is old and has no upgrade path anything above a 970/290X will start to bottleneck.

Have you tried it and seen how much it ''bottlenecks'' it?

Yes, I've had the fx CPU when my friend gave me his first PC. After using it for 1 year I got rid of it. It was awful. The only possible way for it to work is to overclock. Which caused heat issues

EDIT: saw you RIG in your signature. What FPS do you get when playing? because you're diffidently getting a bottleneck

That's the problem. If you search up videos, GPUs with intel CPUs perform better. So AMD CPUs are useless in high end gaming.

I hardly doubt that its any diffrent and more likely less than a benchmark designed to put your gpu to the test

thanks for the suggestions! For the intel processor I would need to change the motherboard too right?

Also I thought the RX 480 hadn't been released yet so thank you for clarifying that. Also i see no problem with the AMD processor, it is cheaper, and runs faster at 3.2 GHz compared to the 6400 at 2.7 GHz but idk, I'm kinda new.

I don't really need an over the top gaming computer, just one that will run any game at 60+ fps at medium to high settings
