It's a great card for the price.  I don't think the hype is "insane" as you say.

Pretty much, I mean there was just as much hype around the 1080 when the NDA lifted. Not nearly as much when the 1070 came out interestingly enough.

When NDA for 1080 was lifted, it's like a freaken beast was unleashed but that price tag. AMD offering on the other end seems to be hitting almost everything they promised at 200$ or 249$. Obviously, the hype train was long and huge. (That's what she said).

I'm just happy they hit their goal.
