Police Being Wrong In Some Cases

So I have been bored lately, and been watching a lot of Youtube videos about the police being wrong and breaking the law when arresting people.  I just have to feel that those officers who are in the wrong may be power trips and not want to admit they are wrong because they are too deep into the arrest that it would be embarrassing for them to pull the plug and set whoever they are arresting free (protecting their own ego).  For example, it is perfectly legal not to identify yourself to an officer if you are not being arrested or detained, but there are so many videos about police officers demanding their names or ID cards out of the blue.  What are your thoughts on all of this? Are SOME of them just ignorant about the laws that they are SUPPOSED to enforce? Or do they just not have anything better to do like stopping actual crimes from happening?
