Windows and Mac Format Storage on Same Drive
Well, after testing, I found a way to get it working. However, it requires that it has to be done using the GUID partition table to the entire drive and must be done using Mac software. So from this, I guess it depends on the file system? I don't think this would work with something like a Linux file system due to Apple's software, but I might be wrong.
This is what the GUID partitions look like in the Windows partition with a 500GB drive. Strange.
For reference purposes, the way I got both storage types on one drive was by this method (If the drive is NTFS, then you will want to back up important data as this will erase the data on the drive)
1. Boot into recovery or an OS X Installer
2. Open Disk Utility
3. Select the entire drive that will store both Mac format and Windows format
4. Select Partition
5. Select 2 Partitions
6. 1st partition format = OSX (extended journaled) and the 2nd partition format = MS-DOS (FAT)
7. Click Apply
