You probably have a regular HDD (confirmed), and Windows 10 often uses 100% of the disk when first installed because of indexing and Windows update.

I had the same problem with a recent low-budget build and it was both indexing and Windows update.

on a new build without an SSD I always leave it overnight, if you need to "work" on it just turn off indexing and the Windows update service.

i dont think its suppose to freeze but i agree 100% disk usage for a hard drive in task manager isnt unusual.

it's not supposed to freeze no, but I experienced it first hand, and fixed it by turning off indexing and Windows update (then turned it back on before I left the PC do it's thing overnight), somehow Windows 10 thinks we all have SSDs now?

that's just SMART data from the HDD, not a benchmark. You will not get information read/write speed out of that.

Well there is a bigger problem now, the computer literally wont turn on. We turn it on, and it immediately powers it off. So i cant really download the right program anymore lol.
