Zelda: Breath of the Wild Engine

Has nintendo disclosed what engine Zelda: Breath of the Wild uses? If so what is it? Thank you

I think most 1st party Nintendo games thus far have not used any other 3rd party engines. The Wii U is not really like a PC, thus it is hard for engine creators (who also focus on other platforms) to optimize for it.

For example Sonic Boom ran on the Unreal Engine CryEngine and it had quite a lot framerate issues on the Wii U.

That's not really a problem, considering it has plenty of other Unreal Engine 3 games for it (and that Unreal Engine 3/4 goes all the way down to working on the iPhone and Android). So it could just be Sega not really giving two ducks about optimizations.

 

Wikipedia also claims Sonic Boom used CryEngine (the fourth one apparently)...

Oh yeah, it was CryEngine, you're right.

But maybe it was also SEGA not giving a crap at first (since they did patch it and it had less framerate issues), but also just the maker of the engine probably didn't count on anyone using the engine on the Wii U.
