Non Functional LED Dispay

Recently my laptop's LED Display decided that purple was a much more suitable color for the screen than the actual information I was trying to load. It constantly cycles between the unaffected display and a blanket of maroon that covers the screen, rendering the laptop unusable. I'm in the process of replacing  the LVDS cable. If this doesn't fix the issue should I replace the LED display or should I look for alternative, less expensive, hardware to replace? Simply looking for a less expensive alternative that may be the culprit.

The LED computer screen is what is messed up, connected to the keyboard
