Amazon is Confusing!

I ordered an Evga Supernova g2 550w power supply from Amazon, using the (UK/IE) free shipping. It's telling me that it is "Shipping Today", whereas it is "Arriving 1-2 Jul". Is it being sent to my house today but not necessarily arriving today? This is puzzling.

shipping as in being sent

arriving as in it has made it's way to your house after being shipped

As others have already clarified, "Shipping Today" means that Amazon is having the package picked up by the courier on the date specified. Arriving 1-2 Jul" means that is the current estimated delivery date, when you will receive the package at your home.

 

Also of note, Free Shipping is generally slower - in Canada it can be up to 2 weeks before delivery. You hardly EVER get anything same day (The odd exception can of course occur).
