i have a zotac amp 1080, i cant even get 2050mhz, is that an unlucky dip?

Basically yes, they don't go much over 2100 either way though, but yes less than 2050 isn't a great OC, not that 50mhz matters much since that is only about a 2% difference

https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/631048-psu-tier-list-updated/ Tier Breakdown (My understanding)--1 Godly, 2 Great, 3 Good, 4 Average, 5 Meh, 6 Bad, 7 Awful

I didn't say "simmer your ass down", I said chill xD

You definitely didn't grab a golden card but if it was mine Id still be happy. At the moment I see 2GHz for The 1080 as what 1.5GHz was to a 980ti. I run my 980ti daily at 1440MHz and beat some of the benchmarks I see for 1070s overclocked. Worry more about performance than epeen numbers like overclocking.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Well I did get 2136MHz with my GTX 1070 Founders Edition, but it was a bit unstable.

Stable for me was 2101MHz.

But difference in benchmarks between 2101 and 2000 is like 1%, if even that.

For some reason those cards aren't scaling well at higher clocks.

So if you have 2050 stable, it's just fine. 2100 Would give you maybe 1fps more.

Anyway, I sent back my card because it had coil whine at high load. So we will see how much I can OC next card xD

For me, I'm just glad if it goes to 2000MHz and stay 100% stable there. Those 1-2 fps more aint worth the strugle getting to 2100MHz in my opinion.

How bad was the coil whine? I had it with my 970s but only on farcry loading screen where the fps was like 10 gazillion.
