Hey , i have been using a strafe keyboard from corsair for quite sometime now , and i was just wondering if i were to change my LED on my keyboard to a RGB one OR a white one , as i am building a white theme set up ,

will the corsair keyboard program still work with my keyboard and will i still be able to program it to Act like one of the RGB keyboard they have

PS: My keyboard is fairly new and i dont want to spent unnecessary money to buy a New RGB one from them , i already have the tools at home and all i need is to buy the led

Replacing the LED lighting in a keyboard is a long, difficult, and sometimes frustrating processs. honestly, I would just buy a new keyboard, I personally prefer simple back lighting, but there are countless RGB keyboards in an affordable price range

i really like my keyboard though , i dont mind taking the time to replace the LED , i just want to know if after replacing it will it still work with the program if for example i just pick a one coloured le

If your keyboard is a monocolor, like a red, blue, or white LED keyboard it is not likely to work unless you get clever, and use the LEDs from another corsair keyboard that has RGB lighting. . Then you could use that keyboards drivers to fool your PC into it has The other RGB keyboard plugged in meaning... yes, it can work... with some recojiggering

but do you think it will work if change it to a white led ? will it still fool the program to think its red and still provide power to the led ?

My apologizes for not looking up what keyboard you had earlier... please... for the live of GOD do not change out your LED's it will be a huge project for nothing... the strafe is an RGB per key back-lit keyboard... meaning you don't need to change the LED's, you merely need to download a profile you like from corsair's website, and apply it

Here is LTT reviewing the keyboard:

Here is a guide to change the profile:

While possible it's an extremely labor intensive process since you have to take off every single LED, while theoretically it would be possible it's just not worth the effort. You would be better off selling the current unit and reinvesting that money to buy the new keyboard with RGB lights.

Swapping out single color LEDs on a keyboard for another color isn't impossible, but its not worth the time IMO. 300 small solder points to suck the solder off of, swap the LED, and resolder without damaging anything else, and still may have brightness issues without replacing the resistors which are probably surface mounted.

It is not possible to swap them for RGB without having a new PCB printed for you, embedding a RBG controller in it, completely transferring your keyboard onto the new PCB, and somehow programming it to talk to Corsair's software.
