Ethernet not working

I just finished building my computer and I plugged in my Ethernet cable and it still says no internet connection. I was just using this Ethernet cable on my ps4 before I plugged it into my new pc. can someone help?

Have you installed all the right drivers for your nic?

Did you install the network driver that came with the motherboard cd?

Its scary at first but i had the same problem. you just need to run your PC the put the disk that your motherboard came with into the disk reader ( it contains all the drivers you need

Yes but the most ideal way now would be to go to the manufacturer's website and download the latest drivers there.

Just look up "network drivers for [insert motherboard with model number here]" on google. It will mostly likely come up with a link to the website and with a little bit of reading what each driver does I'm sure you'll find the one you are looking for.

 

It's honestly not as hard or complicated as one would think. but out of curiosity what is your motherboard?

No it would not. and I would just start off with the Lan Driver then once you have the pc connected to the internet you can download the rest of the drivers and whatever utilities that you think you may want from the site
