Why would you pay that...

nvidia screwed us. That will be the new price for a long time. Why charge less for a better product.

Not once the RX 480 wrecks the place.

Im nvidia all the way, but I hope your right. Nvidia almost has a monopoly on the high end cards. I wish there were several companies on their level, then the 1070 would be around $250.

Nvidia's MSRP is $379. It's the lack of supply causing the pricing to surge so much. Pricing will relax once the retailers can keep them in stock for longer than a few minutes at a time.

I doubt retailers will be able to keep RX 480's in stock for awhile, either.

Well, on the 29th not many people wil be willing to pay more than double for a little bit of extra performance.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

Funny how Nvidia thought the FE cards were the "premium" experience so they charged more and claimed the board manufacturers were going to want to charge less for their cards. Nope.

It wasn't really Nvidia's fault, it's just the AIB people's common sense to charge even more. In fact I'm surprised they don't want $500 for the 1070 uber edition.... or wait... close to it.

Whats the difference between the MSI GTX 1070 Gaming and MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X? I see a 20$ price difference, but whats that for?

The X comes OC'ed out of the box, however it isn't nearly as profound and you can manually overclock it to a much higher speed, so just get the non-X and overclock it yourself since you would do the same with the X version anyway.

I thought that with these new cards and GPU Boost 3.0, that it automatically OCed the card once you start running a game or something? I was under the impression that there wasn't any kind of manual OCing needed, that you just installed the card, DLed the drivers, and then when playing a demanding game the card automatically started to OC itself until it hit a certain temp or something?

If that's true, then what is the point of getting a card at any certain clock speed, if as soon as you get in a game the clock speed changes any to the max possible?

People keep giving Nvidia the excuse of supply but the 900 generation didn't see a price surge when supply was low. The price came out fine and stayed steady without increasing.
