Google now listing EOL for Nexus devices

My Mum won't be too happy about the Nexus 7. Its got the same processor as her old Transformer Prime (which I know have) and the Transformer Infinity which she bought for my siblings and the same amount of RAM, and both the Prime and Infinity run Android 6 as well as they do Android 4.4

So a phone released last year is obsolete by this October.

That should be illegal. How to fuck over your consumer, step one.

This is where Apple is king. Long-term device support. A iPhone 4S/iPad 2 released in 2011 still got the 2015 iOS 9 update. That was 4 years ago. Hell, make that 5. with iOS 9.3 being released this spring. Because of its 512MB of RAM it's now dropped in iOS 10, but still. That's 5 years of updates.

Hmm.. WTF are you talking about?

I just picked up Nexus 5X yesterday (display failure on Nexus 5 made me .)

They say 3 years but 2015-2017 is only 2 for 5X ? I don't like this very much.

That's not what it says at all.

It says that you'll stop getting new Android version in October 2015. You'll receive monthly security updates until it's been 3 years since the Nexus 5 was for sale by google.

As far as i know, i received the 6.0 update way after Oct 2015, that's why I dont think it's that serious
